Christiane Amanpour is like a modern day journalistic authoritarian

5/19/2023 -- Nazi Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels would be very proud of Christiane Amanpour's iron-fist journalistic authoritarianism. Perhaps Amanpour learned from Goebbels that if you sanctimoniously repeat lies over and over again, people will start to believe you. Amanpour is an old relic of 40 years over at CNN. She has been spreading propaganda for so long that one has to wonder if she actually believes her lies. Or maybe her authoritarian ideology is genetic. Amanpour was raised in the authoritarian Republic of Iran until the age of 11. Her father is Iranian. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It's not surprising that Amanpour is notoriously anti-Israel.
On Wednesday, Amanpour told a crowd of aspiring propagandists graduating from the left-wing Columbia Journalism School that their job is to be activists -- not journalists. And, by fighting those evil Republicans, this is "advancing human rights and democracy and defending both” -- Words so perverted that it sounds straight out of George Orwell's novel, 1984.
Amanpour, who is not even an American citizen, hates Trump with a passion, so much that she wants to silence him. Like a true totalitarian dictator, she became triggered when CNN had the gall to allow the former president and the frontrunner for the Republican nomination to appear on the CNN Townhall show -- Because nothing advances democracy more than silencing political opponents. Of course, it's OK to host town halls for democrats. Amanpour once lovingly hosted a town hall for Hillary Clinton in 2014.
Christiane lives in her very own alternate universe (hence the parody of Andrew Wyeth's painting at the top of this page). In her speech to graduates, she complained of Trump's 'witch hunts'. News alert: Trump is the one who has been constantly witch-hunted by democrats, not vice versa.
Confession through projection: Amanpour, the journalistic authoritarian, smeared Donald Trump as an "authoritarian-leaning convicted felon" on tax-payer funded PBS.
Christiane also claimed that it is a fact that “the American people voted three times against Trump and Trumpism: 2018, 2020, 2022". News alert: Democrats lost control of the House in 2022. Trump was not on the ballot in 2018 or 2022. Never mind that simply poor candidates lost many elections, Hershel Walker being a prime example of just one race. But, just ignore Walker's less-than-polished speaking abilities because Christiane says that it is a hard 'fact' that Trump actually lost these races. To claim otherwise is misinformation that should not be reported on, you see.
Christiane says that in stopping Trump, “We [journalists] have done our duty". She claims that "His influence gradually decreased with all but his fervent colleagues and cults.” For someone whose following was just friends and cults, as she claims, how did Trump muster up 74 million votes? How did Biden win swing states by only 0.23% (GA), 0.30% (AZ), 0.58% (WI), 1.27% (PA), 2.78% (MI), all with the help of ballot harvesting and other ballot fraud? Only in Christian's world of grand delusion.
Amanpour said that she would have dropped the mic, and presumably left the stage when Trump called Caitlin Collins a nasty woman. Nevermind that Collins rudely kept attacking and talking over Trump, repeatedly interrupting him as he was trying to answer her questions. When your political opponent is winning the debate, just end the interview.
Amanpour used weasel words to urge the graduates to "be truthful, but not neutral. Bothsidesism is not always objectivity. It does not get you to the truth. Drawing false moral or factual equivalence is neither objective nor truthful." Amanpour argued, "Look at the damage [Bothsidesism] has done in the climate debate". So, Amanpour wants to be the Ministry of Truth (including moral truth) and silence climate skepticism. The debate is over and The Science™ is settled. A check of Amanpour's Twitter posts and sure enough, it's 100% climate 'crisis' hysteria -- Not one single post that challenges the systemic lie of anthropogenic climate change.
Like a true authoritarian, Amanpour has rushed to defend serial liar, Anthony Fauci, giving him a forum. In an April 2023 interview, she nodded with complete approval as Fauci complained about misinformation, disinformation, and 'distortion of truth and reality' that had all eroded the 'foundations of democracy'. It doesn't get any more Orwellian than Fauci and Amanpour lecturing us on democracy and the need for censorship. Ignorance is strength! Freedom is slavery!

It is astounding that a so-called 'journalist' like Amanpour is so ignorant of the 1st Amendment of the US Constitution as she pushes for censorship of people she doesn't like. She needs to stay in her lane. This wouldn't be the first time that her ignorance reared its ugly face. Amanpour once outrageously compared the Trump presidency to Kristallnacht, in which Hitler Youth vandalized and looted 7,500 Jewish-owned businesses. Jewish homes, hospitals, and schools were ransacked as attackers demolished buildings with sledgehammers. Rioters destroyed 267 synagogues throughout Germany, Austria, and the Sudetenland. 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps. We ask the question: Is Christiane Amanpour mentally unstable?
6/16/2023: On her lefty network, PBS, Amanpour used a lefty guest to smear Donald Trump as being part of an 'International Cabal' who 'support the idea of dictatorship'. Amanpour might want to look in the mirror.
7/18/2024: 5 days after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, PBS’s Christiane Amanpour invited Never Trumper David Frum of The Atlantic to Wednesday's episode of Amanpour and Company, where he delivered his usual rigmarole of anti-Republican nonsense.
2/15/2024: Amanpour craftily spun Michael Mann's defamation case victory into some sort of 'victory for science' and confirmation that global warming is real and The Science™ is settled. Remember Amanpour's authoritarian Science-Is-Settled speech to graduates at the Columbia Journalism School in which she preached against telling the 'both sideism' of science.
In conclusion, it's bad enough to have a totalitarian Iranian spreading propaganda on TV and radio. But, democracy is in even more danger when that same tyrant is lecturing future American journalists at a graduation ceremony on how to be left-wing authoritarian political activists.
